Plank/Speck #1

I thought I’d start a new series called Plank/Speck. It’s basically a rant.

Today’s Plank/Speck is on Personalised Number Plates.

Blog readers will know about my recent unregistered car dramas. Well one of the unfortunate results of this is that my wife’s personalised number plates, in order to be kept on the car, now attract an anuual fee of $90.

She has had these plates for many years, so long in fact that they did not attract an annual fee which was only bought in a few years ago.

My wife, who is always very wise with money, took the decision to simply hand the plates back and get a set of random, standard issue plates rather than waste money on personalised plates.

So my Speck for today - are you wasting money on paying ongoing fees for personalised plates? Perhaps you should consider giving these up and putting the money towards more useful and, frankly, less vain purposes.
