Reading not Blogging
I have to admit, I have had little enthusiasm for blogging over the last few weeks. Not sure why…probably just been too busy.
Anyway, as always, I have been reading.
My current list is:
- Pierced for our Transgressions - Rediscovering the glory of penal substitution (Jeffery, Ovey, Sach)
- The Future of Justification: A response to NT Wright (Piper)
- Total Church (Timmis, Chester)
I am enjoying all three. The Piper book, which tackles the New Perspective on Paul, is pretty heavy going but good to stretch my brain.

I’m Thinking of transferring my blog to WordPress…they just seem to have better features than Blogspot…
Any other suggestions before I take the plunge?
Thoughts & Wisdom from South Africa
My company (a big, bad multinational) has, for some reason, a particularly strong relationship with the company’s operations in South Africa. So much so that there are a lot of people swaps that go on, the result being a steady flow of new faces speaking with that Afrikaans twang.
I have come to the conclusion, based on chatting with all these various imports that, that there are many cultural similarities between Aus and SA, certainly more than I would have thought.
Anyway, I came across Stephen Murray’s Blog yesterday and have subsequently added it to my reading list. Stephen is SA based and is all about the missional church, so it will be interesting what I can glean from his thinking.
